| The Passive House by Karawitz Architecture Posted: 26 Jan 2011 07:21 AM PST No, this is not a post of Beautiful Houses, could be because this house is beautiful, but I thought I could do a post about it with another goal, the constructive and sustainable differential of this house somewhat unusual.<!--break--> Located in Bessancourt in France, it's a project by Karawitz Architecture . It reminds me those houses that used to draw as a child, a box with roof, and this is basically the design of Passive House. But when we analyze it goes a bit further, I can say is bold from the floor to the roof. The only concrete used in this work is the foundation and over it are structured large rigid wooden panels, covered with bamboo rods. The roof has a lot of blades to capture solar energy generation. Other than that the interior part of a minimalist line, with only a few colors, a few furniture and of course a lot of raw wood covering the walls and ceilings. The solar orientation generate heat and direct light from one side while the other is closed to keep warm on cold days. Perhaps lacking a little color and life in some places, but for those who like simplicity is an amazing building.

| Posted: 26 Jan 2011 06:29 AM PST Keith Walsh started a cool project in 2010 where he designed one t-shirt a day for 365 days, without fail. Featured here are some of my favorite ones.

| Amazing Brushless Graffiti Portraits by David Walker Posted: 26 Jan 2011 05:41 AM PST David Walker uses spray paint to create beautiful graffiti portraits. He works under self-imposed constraints such as "no brushes" and the results are quite stunning. What's more, according to the article that tipped me off to him, he only started painting three years ago!Beyond that tiny tidbit of information…I know nothing about this guy! If someone has a good bio link please post it in the comments. His site is pretty slim on info - but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy his work! Feast your eyes on these paintings! |
| Ultra-Creative Foodscapes by Photographer Carl Warner Posted: 25 Jan 2011 06:00 PM PST English photographer Carl Warner is the perfect example of a creative person. This guy thought of building full landscapes with food, and it just looks absolutely amazing. It's total eye-candy and of course, makes you hungry. He uses several kinds of food to create perfect landscapes that you would be proud to gaze for hours. His technique gotta be really painful but really worth the time spent in the end. For more of his amazing work, you should visit his portfolio. He'll appreciate it. I hope you enjoy these! Cheers! ;) |
